Today’s Technology 30 Years Ago…
Do you remember the visit of the young lady with the electric car? I think she was from Seeboard, the local electricity company that wanted to show off the car of the future.
Well, the technology is available now albeit in a more sophisticated form with better styling and certainly a better range. The performance was good though, particularly the acceleration, as I nearly managed to mow down some of the sixth form on the front drive. It had the same characteristics in reverse too!
Looking at the members of the sixth form, I reckon this picture was taken in 1977. At first sight, I reckon I can name at least 12 of the survivors not counting Bryan and myself.

Well, I can see myself, Mark Heppell, in the front row – just above the face of the man in the car. Is that Martyn Wood on the far right, and Greg Barry on the left with Geoff Rousell behind him.
It doesn’t say who wrote the piece, but I imagine it’s Dave Jenkins who always seemed to be favoured by Mr Short for some reason!!

Yep, I’ll go for all those, plus Sean Barry leaning out behind Bryan, do I see P.J (Pete) Wilson next to Greg ? (there were also I.J. and N.J. Wilson all nonrelated, but can’t see them there) and do I see “Bim” Bailey ?
Lots of faces I feel I should recognise but cant put a name to …..

I am glad it is not just me that cannot remember the event or the names others in the picture are John MERRALL to the left of me Mike NIXON right at the back behind geoff. I think it is Ian FERRALL to the left of him.THE guy by Mark HEPPELL was in the choir was it Michael BURLEY ? is it John KIRWAN behind Sean BARRY no relation to me. Also is it Dave OZANNE by Sean as well. It might be Bill CHESSON at the back as well.
